The company earns revenues through slot machines, table games, hotel rooms, and food and beverage sales. Detroit businessman Don Barden is the founder and former owner of Majestic Star. The company exited bankruptcy in 2011, about two years after it filed for Chapter 11.
Majestic Star Casino consists of two casino gaming boats on Lake Michigan in Gary, Indiana's Buffington Harbor, owned and operated by The Majestic Star Casino, LLC. Majestic Star acquired the adjacent Trump Casino in 2007. The two boats each have three floors of gaming, with a combined 1,900 slot machines, table games, a high-limit VIP room, a poker room, and a baccarat room. Dining options include a steakhouse and a buffet.
